FF DIN Type Specimen Poster Brochure
Result of a semester project in Typography at HTW Berlin – University of Applied Sciences.
FF DIN is a modern sans-serif typeface that holds a rich history and significant influence in typography. Designed by Albert-Jan Pool in 1995 for FontFont, it is based on the classic DIN 1451, a typeface originally created for German road and railway signage.
Beyond its practical applications, FF DIN's iconic status reflects the enduring appeal of functional design in typography, showcasing how a typeface born out of utility can transcend its origins to become a timeless classic.
My goal with the typeface specimen poster brochure was to highlight FF DIN's purist approach. Staying purist as the font itself, I chose a black/white color scheme for the brochure itself whereas the poster is designed in full color to showcase its various use cases for signage as well as digital display purposes.
